Cocktail master class

Hi guys welcome back, so today is Christmas Eve, I am so excited to be home for the holidays and to be spending time with my crazy ass family and some very old friends!!! Today's post is going to be a little different, instead of a "how to : make up look" which Is what I usually post we are going to be doing a "How to : cocktails for Christmas"

So yeah you read it right, today I'm going to be talking you through how to make one of my favourite cocktails ever which is a Bellini!! These drinks are really easy and quick to make, their really good as a sort of welcoming drink if you are hosting this festive season...

You will need:
* drinking glasses obviously, there doesn't need to be a specific type just any glasses you have will do
* 1 lime
* a bag of sugar
* a small plate
*Prosecco (if you don't have Prosecco you can also use champagne)
*a large bottle of a flavoured smoothie
^ Now before we jump in let me just explain the smoothie.. usually when you have a Bellini its a puree that's been put into the glass not a smoothie but I was out shopping yesterday and couldn't find puree anywhere so I opted for an M&S smoothie which will work just the same!! There is usually a flavour to your Bellini and those flavours re either peach or berry, I couldn't find anything peach related in the shop but berry Bellini's are just as delicious!!

How to:
1. cut your lime up into wedges, then rub the lime wedge around the rim of your glass so its quite damp and sticky.
2. Open your sugar and pour some onto your little plate, then take your glass and dip the rim of the glass you just covered in lime into the sugar ( it should not look like this down below)

3. Measurements aren't that important if its just two ingredients so I just go with 50/50. Pour some of your smoothie into the glass so its half full
4. Pop open your Prosecco/champagne and pour it into the glass until its full
5. Give it a stir and then enjoy!!!
(P.S if there are any non drinkers in the family, you can swap the champagne/Prosecco for shloer, it will work just the same!!)

So there you have it, a quick easy cocktail recipe that will definitely impress your guests this holiday season, this recipe isn't just for Christmas it can be for new year or any upcoming event you may have on.

That's it for todays post, thank you so much for reading I hope you enjoy making these amazing cocktails, and from my family to yours have a Merry Christmas

XOXO

visit the dark side this christmas

It may be Christmas but it doesn't mean we cant visit the dark side...

Lets do the usual and jump right in!!

If I'm doing a dark eye shadow I do my foundation last, so the first thing I did was pop some primer onto my eyes, I then took my urban decay naked 3 palette and used the darkest shadow in there ( blackheart) and I just applied that to the inner and outer corners of my eye, I then took a blending brush and blended for what felt like 5 years but I'd rather have a sore arm than harsh lines... Now for the central part of my lid I took a Maybelline New York 24hr colour tattoo shadow in the colour "on and on bronze" and using my finger I just applied that onto my lid. After that I picked up my blending brush again and blended for another 5 years. This eye shadow look is a really time consuming process but the end result is so worth it. After I blended everything out I applied mascara and some false eyelashes (miss sporty studio lash instant volume and the ardell whispies)

Moving onto the foundation routine its just my usual:

* Olay 2 in 1 instant hydration and wrinkle blur
* Rimmel London lasting finish primer
* Maybelline New York baby lips - peach kiss
* Rimmel London match perfection concealer -010 ivory ( this is also the highlight I use for under my eyes)
*Maybelline New York super stay 24 hour foundation - 021 nude beige
*Rimmel London blush 020 pink rose
*Collection 2000 bronze matte glow
*Rimmel London brow this way gel - medium brown 002

For lipstick I decided to keep it dark also so I went for a deep purple look but if that colour isn't for you, you can totally go for a classic red lip. The colour I used on my lips was by L'Oreal Paris, it was one of the colour riche lipsticks and the colour number is 462

For my hair I just kept it very straight, I used a pair of GHD'S and VO5's heat protection spray to protect my hair. This look is great if you have any Christmas parties coming up.

Holiday Glam Make Up : Gold shimmer & matte lips

Starting off with my usual foundation routine:

 * Olay 2 in 1 instant hydration and wrinkle blur
* Rimmel London lasting finish primer
* Maybelline New York baby lips - peach kiss
* Rimmel London match perfection concealer -010 ivory ( this is also the highlight I use for under my eyes)
*Maybelline New York super stay 24 hour foundation - 021 nude beige
*Rimmel London blush 020 pink rose
*Collection 2000 bronze matte glow
*Rimmel London brow this way gel - medium brown 002

To create this look I used the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette. ( apologies for my brows, I am trying to grow them out..) The first thing I did is take the colour "Thirteen" from the smoky palette and I applied that to my brow bone. I then took the colour "Dirtysweet" and I just applied that all over my lid, I really wanted this colour to pop so I did pack on the colour quite a bit. For the outer corners of my eyes I just applied the colour " Radar", I really love this colour its like a shimmery brown and its just so beautiful!!! so applying that lightly to the outer corners of the eyes then just using a fluffy brush to blend it out. With this look it is really important to blend blend and blend. If you feel like you've been blending for years just keep doing it, you'll really notice when its all perfect and blended out. I didn't wear liner for this look because I felt like the eye shadow was enough but of course you can apply liner if you wish. And really quickly for my under eyes I just applied a little bit of "Dirtysweet" to make my eyes pop more and make the look stand out more. Moving onto lashes and mascara I used my usual miss sporty studio lash instant volume and my false eyelashes were the ardell whispies of course!!

For lips I used Mac cosmetics for liner and lipstick, I first applied the liner all over my lips and this was in the colour "Redd" ( before anyone says anything, no I haven't made a spelling mistake the colour on the pencil is spelt with two D's) and then the lipstick is in the colour "Cockney" which is favourite holiday red colour ever!!!!

I of course used a little bit of fix+ on my face also...

And for my hair guys I just used a curling wand by TRESemme and please use heat protection before hand and a texture spray afterwards, I recommend V05

So that was it for this make up look, thank you so much for reading and until next time I will talk to you guys soon!!

Winged eye & bold lips

Jumping in really quickly to the foundation routine, on my face I used:
* Olay 2 in 1 instant hydration and wrinkle blur
* Rimmel London lasting finish primer
* Maybelline New York baby lips - peach kiss
* Rimmel London match perfection concealer -010 ivory ( this is also the highlight I use for under my eyes)
*Maybelline New York super stay 24 hour foundation - 021 nude beige
*Rimmel London blush 020 pink rose
*Collection 2000 bronze matte glow
*Rimmel London brow this way gel - medium brown 002

Now for the eye look, today I didn't use any shadows on my eyes purely because this look is all about the lips!!
* Rimmel London Glam Eyes liquid liner (to draw right across my lid)
* L'Oreal Paris super liner perfect slim ( to draw the wing)
* Miss sporty studio lash instant volume
* False eyelashes were the ardell whispies, I like these because they look really long and natural

Now time for the lips, before applying any of the colours be sure to prep your lips, I.E. stick some lip balm on.. I used baby lips by Maybelline

The first lipstick is by Royal Cosmetics in the colour coral and its a nice bright colour to wear in all seasons.

The second lipstick option is by MAC cosmetics and that's in the colour cockney, its a beautiful bright red, its my go to red lip and this colour is perfect for the holiday season.

The third lipstick I have used is by Lime Crime in the colour Airborne Unicorn, I really love this lipstick its a bright pastel lilac colour perfect for anytime of the year. The other things that are great about this lipstick is that it is not been tested on animals, its 100% vegan, it smells really nice (trust me just take a sniff) and the packaging is just irresistible ( I'm such a sucker for nice packaging)

The final lipstick is also by lime crime and this is in the colour Styletto, this is the really black one, I originally bought this to complete a Halloween look I did a year ago and I genuinely thought that this lipstick would only make an appearance on Halloween but I was wrong. I really love this lipstick its great when you are feeling bold and adventurous, and also black lipstick isn't as hard to keep up on a night out believe it or not. As I said this lipstick is also from lime crime so everything I said about the above lipstick applies to this one also.

So that is it for our four winged eye and bold lip looks, have fun being bold and expressing yourself!!

XOXO

Natural cool tone make up

For this look its all about the eyes, to get this look I used my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. I will list what foundation I used etc down below.

For this eye look I used the first four shadows in the naked basics palette firstly I mixed "foxy" and "W.O.S" together and blended that into my crease and all over my lid. Because the shades are so light you will need to pack the colour on a few times and really blend so there is no harsh lines. After that I took the lightest shade from the palette called "Venus" and applied that all over my lid, adding a bit of shimmer to the other two shadows. I then took the colour "naked 2" and applied that to the outer corners of my eyes very lightly just to make the eyes pop a little more. After that I just took a blending brush and blended out the naked 2 colour, I blended for a good five minutes because what do we not want? harsh lines. After that I just applied some mascara and some black pencil eye liner to the bottom outer corners of my eyes. I was actually going somewhere when I did this look and because I live in Scotland and we are currently in the middle of hurricane "Desmond" I didn't see a point in applying false lashes because they would just blow off the second I stepped outside the house, but if the weather wasn't so awful I would of applied lashes and I will list the lashes I would of used down below.

Full Face:
* Olay 2 in 1 instant hydration and wrinkle blur
* Rimmel London lasting finish primer
* Maybelline New York baby lips - peach kiss
* Rimmel London match perfection concealer -010 ivory
*Maybelline New York super stay 24 hour foundation - 021 nude beige ( this foundation is a little dark for me because right now I am at my lightest so I had to take it down to my neck, foundation was blended out using a damp beauty blender)
* NO7 stay perfect metallic eyes pencil
*Miss sporty studio lash instant volume
*Lashes (if the weather wasn't so horrible ) - Ardell whispies

Dior samples plus Clarins, Benefit & Victoria's Secret miniature haul

Before we jump right into the video I would just like to say sorry in advance for saying Dior mascara instead of perfume, the bad lighting, all the folders/paperwork in site (college has been hectic recently), my deep manly voice and obviously my nails!!! I am going to get them re-done tomorrow though I promise xxxx

Everything in the video was store bought.

The Dior samples were free but the original price is about £67 for 100ml and yes I know its a men's after shave but it just smells so damn good!!
The pore minimising serum - the one that I have is only 3ml but the bigger 30ml one is available for £27
The gentle day cream, again the one I have is only a little 5ml one but the bigger 50ml one is available for £39
The body treatment oil comes in three different versions - contouring & strengthening, firming & toning and soothing & relaxing. The one I picked up is the firming & toning one and these are available for £40

Victoria's Secret : Noir Tease is available in the store and online ( prices are different in certain places)

Everything I said about Noir Tease is the same for the Snow Mint body mist

Benefit: The four benefit presumes are called Gina, Lee Lee, Bella and Noelle. The scents are very floral/fresh and I'm obsessed with the packaging

XOXO

My tips for clear and healthy skin

I've had my fair share of breakouts over the years especially in my early teens but something I didn't know back when I was 14 was how to control it, so here are my tips for how I control my skin and keep it healthy and clear.

So the first thing to ALWAYS remember to do is take your make - up off every night ( the odd time when you come stumbling in at stupid o'clock after a night out and just crash on your bed is excused but every other time be sure to do it). Having clogged pores is one of the main reasons break outs happen, your skin needs time to breathe.

Secondly make sure you have a good face wash, it can take ages to find a face wash that you actually like, mine is "Coal Face" by Lush cosmetics, I did a lush haul in a previous blog so all the information about this face wash is there. I like this because its made from natural ingredients and it leaves my skin feeling clean and hydrated
Thirdly... BUY THIS GUY!!!! I cannot stress enough how good this product is, this little guy is my go to acne treatment. This product is the reason my skin got so clear, after spending like £20/30 on proactive and other expensive treatments all I had to do was to go to Superdrug and pick up this little bottle of magic for like £5. When you use this you get results like the next day. I also did a review on this if you want to check it out its called "my tried and true acne treatment"

Fourthly, always remember to moisturise, if you don't  keep your face hydrated it can break out even more and also all your spots will become dry and they wont disappear from your face no matter how much spot treatment is on them. Plus nobody wants wrinkles right?
And finally make sure you drink water, I'm not going to lecture you and tell you that you must drink 7 glasses a day or else. All I'm saying is try and have a bottle or two a day , I have recently started taking bottles of water with me to lectures (instead of paying £1 for a fizzy drink at the vending machine) and it has had a great affect on my skin, it looks so much brighter and healthier, plus I'm saving some money not going to that vending machine so its a win win really.

XOXO

Get unready with me - my night-time routine

Judging by the title, you all know what this post is going to be about so I'm just going to jump right in. Most night-time routines are quite long but this one is quick and simple so you can hop straight into bed

So obviously I take my make up off using a make up remover wipe, these ones are from Primark and I really like them. They're very soothing and are fragrance free.

I then wash my face using the "Coal Face" facial soap by Lush, I recently mentioned this in a previous blog so I don't need to go into much detail, I will say that it's very gentle on the skin and it makes my face feel very clear and soft
Moving on to toner, I like to use my tried and true spot stress control, I also did a review on that so please read it for additional info
For moisturiser I'm currently using the olay 2in1 instant hydration and wrinkle blur. I really like this product my skin feels great and this product smells really good too.
And finally for my lips I will use either of these little guys to exfoliate my lips

XOXO

In a rush and out the door make up

We've all had those mornings when we just needed an extra few minutes of beauty sleep, so this is my  in a rush and out the door makeup routine.
Even on days when I'm in a rush I always make sure I prime my face, the primer I'm currently using is the L'orèal infallible mattifying primer. I then use the Rimmel London wake me up concealer to hide any redness or breakouts I may have. For my foundation i use the L'orèal infallible 24 hour matte foundation in the colour "11 vanilla". I blend my foundation using a damp beauty blender.

When I'm in a rush obviously I don't have time to do a full on contour but I do make sure I have some colour in my cheeks. I really like to use the Rimmel London lasting finish soft colour blush in the colour "020 pink rose" this is probably my favourite blush as it's very natural looking and not too harsh.

Then I Get rid of any shininess I may have in using the collection 200 press powder in the colour "18 Ivory"

Moving onto eyeshadow, the best thing to use when you're in a rush is one of the Maybelline 24hr colour tattoo's. The one I prefer to use is "35- on and on bronze" because you can never go wrong with a smokey eye plus it makes you look like you put in such an effort when really you didn't.

Usually if I have a lot of time I fill my brows in with powder but on a day when you have zero time the Rimmel London brow this way gel is perfect, it's so quick and easy to use and again it makes you look like you spent ages on your brows. The colour is use is "002 medium brown"
Applying mascara can be a time consuming process so when you're in a hurry it's good to have a mascara that gives you fast results. That's why I like to use the false lashes extreme black by  Mac.

For my lips I like to use "confidence" by lush, I really love this lipstick it's a dark plumb colour and it dries Matte.

And finally I spray a bit of fix+ on my face by mac

Lush Haul

The first two things I picked up were A bubble bar and a bath bomb, the first one is called "sunnyside" and it's a bubble bar, it's smells so good I'm really excited to try this, it's got orange, lemon and tangerine oils in it and the woman in the shop said it makes the bath water gold so I'm extra excited for that! The second thing is a bath bomb called "fizzbanger" and it smells so amazing. It has popping candy in it and petitgrain which is used in aroma therapy to reduce feelings of anxiety and calm the breathing. It also has cinnamon leaf oil in it which is supposed to help you "let go" so I'm excited to try this out.
I've always wanted to try some of the make up line by lush, so I picked up this lipstick, it's called confidence. I'm not sure if I like the smell, I don't know how to describe the smell, it's not a bad smell or anything I just can't seem to think what it smells like. I really like this colour it's like a dark plumb and it dries matte.
I decided I would try out one of their facial cleansers so I picked up "dark angels" it has black sugar and charcoal in it to exfoliate the skin and it has rhassoul mud in it to cleanse. I believe it also has avocado oil in it to moisturise the face. I remember the woman in the shop said it scrubs away dead skin sells. I'm not a huge fan of the smell because I hate liquorice.

And finally, i was lucky enough to be able to grab some free samples. The first one the girl gave me was a facial soap and its called "coalface". It's made with antiseptic rosewood, sandalwood, and absorbent charcoal that can be used on the face and body. Sandalwood oil gives this soap a distinctive earthy fragrance. Charcoal is known for its absorbency, while liquorice root softens the skin and rosewood oil has antiseptic properties.
I wasn't aware that Lush had brought out a foundation so I was really happy when the girl gave me a sample pot to try out. Obviously I had to get the palest one because I currently am not wearing fake tan, the shade I got is called "Jackie oats" I personally think it smells like play doe. The girl said its more like a tinted moisturiser so its perfect for days when its hot outside .It's made with oat milk as a base, which helps to calm skin down, it also has  shea butter, honey, aloe vera and glycerine to hydrate and even out my skin tone. So excited to try this out!!
XOXO

My tried and true acne treatment

Today I am going to be talking about the Neutrogena visibly clear spot stress control daily cleansing lotion. This is by far the best thing I've ever used to treat my spots. I've always had spot prone skin and I have tried so many different products to try and get rid of them but this little guy has done the best job. The triple action formula helps clear all my spots. This lotion deeply cleanses, reduces excess oil and shine and of course helps clear spots. It's enriched with green tea and cucumber so it's not harsh on the skin, it's very gentle so it's perfect for everyday use. I don't think my skin has been as clear as it is now, I feel so much more confident and because it's summer and it's getting hotter I tend not to wear as much make up during the day time and having clearer skin makes me feel more comfortable wearing minimal/no make up. You can buy this little bottle of magic from your local Superdrug/Boots, And I believe some Tesco's stock it as well. If you have spots and you feel like you've tried everything give this little guy a try, i honestly feel like it's the best acne treatment out there.

XOXO

Cocoa Brown self tanner review

I am a regular user of fake tan, because I'm so naturally pale I could give Edward Cullen a run for his money. I have used a lot of different fake tans but the Cocoa Brown by Marissa Carter is definitely my tried and true!!.

The two self tanners I picked up were the "Gentle Bronze" gradual tan and the " 1 hour tan mousse, dark"  Both of these products are perfect for when you want a fast tan. If I have a night out planned the night before I apply the self tan mousse, I use the dark one because I'm so pale the medium one doesn't really show up on me. You can shower it off after an hour but I like to wear it over night and shower it off in the morning. I am obsessed with this tan, it's the best self tanner I've ever used, the colour is so natural and it makes my skin feel smooth and silky. The best part about this tan is that it stayed on for like 9 days without fading. So if you haven't bought it run to Superdrug and pick yourself up a bottle... Or 100!!

For days when it's hot and I don't have any tan on and I'm wearing an outfit that exposes my milk bottle legs, the gentle bronze is my gift sent from heaven!! It's super moisturising and it doesn't have that fake tan smell, it sort of smells like a dove body lotion. I love this tan because it's perfect for when you're in a rush and need to get out the door, it takes seconds to apply and it covers so evenly. It gives me that gentle bronzed healthy glow. I recommend you use a self tanning mit when applying the self tanners but if you prefer to use your hands be sure to wash them straight after your done putting on the tan.

Thank you Marissa Carter for creating the best self tanner on the high street!!!!!

XOXO

Leaving school, RUBY ROSE, fathers day, the YuLin festival and my new hair!!!!

So for some of us college/uni is done for the summer and it's time to come home to our boring hometowns and make small awkward chat with people from school who you bump into on the street who honestly you never really liked in the first place. But for others who have just finished the last of their highers and are away to prom there is a whole other journey ahead after the summer. For people like me who are just home for three months to get a job and earn some money before they can jet back off to the big cities they were living in, the people a year younger than us are getting ready to move out and be considered "adults" for the first time in their lives. The high school proms in my area were a few days ago and my Facebook newsfeed is clogged with all the prom photo's. The only thing that has really struck my attention is the new prom "dress" trend. I have seen a lot of girls wearing two pieces to prom (a crop top and a long skirt) call me old fashioned but that just doesn't seem "promy" to me. Looking at all the photo's on Facebook and Instagram made me realise that it's actually been a whole year since I left school, moved to Glasgow and became a "responsible adult" . Hopefully I'm not the only one that barely remembers their prom but I do remember high school - the prefect lounge, the endless free periods and of course PIZZINI'S ( pizza paninis). I personally hated high school and if you don't believe me you can check my year book comment because that's exactly what I said in it "personally I hated high school". I remember the end of prom when Mr Jamison got up on stage and sang a song with the band, and then when the music stopped everyone started hugging and crying... Me? Of course not, I picked up my shoes (that came off 2 hours previously) grabbed my pal Charlie and we headed for the exit. I wouldn't do prom all over again because personally I couldn't handle the hangover during an 11 hour shift at work again. I hold amazing memories with special people and that's all I really need.

I'm presuming everyone has caught up on OITNB season 3 and if not pull yourself together girl and get yourself a Netflix account. I finished the third series within a number of days because I have no life and netflix is all I know, so we MUST talk about our new rising star Ruby Rose... Actually I don't have that much to say about her apart from the fact that she makes me question my sexuality.

This week I signed a petition to stop the YuLin dog eating festival, I don't need to describe what this is as you can see the picture above. I publicly shared this photo on my own Facebook account to get the message around and to also encourage others to sign the petition. I got a fair few likes and a few private messages saying good things etc but I did get one comment saying that there's no need to

ban it because it's culture just like its culture for us to eat cows. I do see that persons point however the fact that these pets are kidnapped from their families is the main reason I want it stopped, do your research and have your own opinion.

Today was Father's Day, unlike my friends I didn't have a special dad to celebrate, today I celebrated the amazing woman that raised me on her own. I did also thank my "father" for being the sperm donor because that's all he is. Having children doesn't make you a parent, raising them does.

MY HAIR TRANSFORMATION!!!!! I have probably had nearly every colour of hair under the sun, I'm just so indecisive. I love being bold with my hair, before this transformation the last bold thing i ever did with my hair was dye it purple. After probably under a month of being purple I decided I'd just go black again, I do love having dark hair i've had dyed dark hair since I was 15. For the past two months I have just had this need to go lighter and a few days ago I finally did it. I did this myself by using L,oriel hair dyes its very simple to do!! I've had nice feedback on my pictures on Instagram and the more I look at my hair the more I like it, change is good!! I wonder how long it will last....

XOXO
